Mastiff Training
The Mastiff is an enormous, dignified guardian with a surprisingly gentle and good-natured disposition. Calm and courageous, it is naturally protective, so early socialization and obedience training are critical while it is still a manageable size—an untrained 200-pound dog cannot be muscled into compliance. Mastiffs are sensitive despite their bulk and respond best to calm, consistent, reward-based methods. Teaching loose-leash walking early is essential. Their exercise needs are modest, but their joints require care during growth. Devoted and steady, a well-trained Mastiff is a quiet, affectionate housemate and a formidable but discerning protector of its family.
