Shiba Inu Training
The Shiba Inu is an ancient Japanese breed with an almost cat-like independence and a spirited, bold personality. Alert and clever, it is fully capable of learning but sees little reason to obey unless training is genuinely rewarding, which makes recall and off-leash reliability major challenges. Shibas are known escape artists and can show resource guarding, so early management and socialization matter. They are fastidious and relatively easy to house-train, unlike many small breeds. Reward-based methods and patience win far more than pressure. For an owner who respects its independent nature, the Shiba Inu is a striking, loyal, and fascinating companion.
